Racist German party leader whippedGauland later denied the comments and said he never

insulted Boateng whom he did not know. He added

that he had only described some people’s attitudes in

a background conversation with the journalists.

Meanwhile, Frauke Petry who later apologized to

Boateng tweeted: “Jerome Boateng is a super

footballer who is rightly a member of the German

national team. I’m looking forward to the European

Championship.”

Jerome Boateng opted to play for Germany who he

played for even in youth tournaments whilst Kevin

Prince Boateng switched allegiance to Ghan on

comments about footballer Jerome Boateng.

Gauland told the Sunday newspaper Frankfurter
Allgemeine Sonntagszeitung who headlined the news
as “Gauland insults Boateng”, and quoted the
politician as saying: “People find him good as a
footballer, but they don’t want to have Boateng as a
neighbour.”
He said most Germans would not like to have Boateng,
whose father is Ghanaian, as a neighbor in an
interview which sparked a wide condemnation across
the country
Boateng, 27, was born to a German mother in Germany
just like his brother Kelvin Prince Boateng, and both
to a Ghanaian father.
The leader of the AfD, Frauke Petry, apologised for the
impression and Germany manager Oliver Bierhoff said
people who made such comments “are simply
discrediting themselves”.
Vice-chancellor Sigmar Gabriel expressed his disgust
at the comments when he said: “that Gauland is not
just against foreigners but againsit the good things
about Germany”.
