Workers of the factory near Apowa in the Ahanta West

shock after one of their co-workers lost his life in a
rather bizzare and heart-wrenching accident.

who’s identity is yet to be revealed, fell into one
machine being utilized around midday on 29th August,
2016.

worker might have accidentally slipped into the
machine during a short nap he’d taken out of
tiredness.

body was mutilated beyond salvation before a
colleague worker came around to notice him in the
machine.

A married man, Sikiru Olarenwaju, has died after
having several rounds of sex with his lover in Lagos,
Nigeria.
Olarenwaju, a husband and father of five, is said to
have called his girlfriend and informed her that he
would spend the night at her end in in the Abule Egba
area of Lagos.

was married but Olarenwaju, a clearing agent at the
airport, insisted, according to a report by the Punch
newspaper.
The report said when he got there, the two lovers ate,

She reportedly tried to wake him up, but he did not
respond.

What this first South African black pilot does for other
women is incredible. You should hear her story!
Meet Asnath Mahapa. She has become the first black
woman to drive an airplane in South Africa. It’s a real
victory for gender and race equality for this country.
However, the path there was not easy for Asnath.
In the childhood, she used to stare at the sky and see
those huge planes crossing it. One day she realized a
small person could drive a giant aircraft. Why could
not that be her? She became very determined to
become a pilot, but fulfilling the dream was almost
impossible in the country being a black woman.
Against the will of her father Asnath left her school
and entered the flight courses. She was the only
woman in the class. She had to work the hardest
among the new pilots to finish it. Many times she felt
extremely sick in the air.
But she did not give up and in 1998 she became the
first black female pilot in South Africa. She was only
22 back then. 14 years later she has opened a flight
college for women. She had enough experience to
make the path a lot easier for her sisters, the girls

Portland
cement
is the
basic
ingredient of concrete. Concrete is formed when portland
cement creates a paste with water that binds with sand
and rock to harden.
Cement is manufactured through a closely controlled
chemical combination of calcium, silicon, aluminum, iron
and other ingredients.

Common materials used to manufacture cement include
limestone, shells, and chalk or marl combined with
shale, clay, slate, blast furnace slag, silica sand, and
iron ore. These ingredients, when heated at high
temperatures form a rock-like substance that is ground
into the fine powder that we commonly think of as
cement.
Bricklayer Joseph Aspdin of Leeds, England first made
portland cement early in the 19th century by burning
powdered limestone and clay in his kitchen stove. With
this crude method, he laid the foundation for an industry
that annually processes literally mountains of limestone,
clay, cement rock, and other materials into a powder so
fine it will pass through a sieve capable of holding
water.
Cement plant laboratories check each step in the
manufacture of portland cement by frequent chemical
and physical tests. The labs also analyze and test the
finished product to ensure that it complies with all
industry specifications.
The most common way to manufacture portland cement
is through a dry method. The first step is to quarry the
principal raw materials, mainly limestone, clay, and
other materials. After quarrying the rock is crushed. This
involves several stages. The first crushing reduces the
rock to a maximum size of about 6 inches. The rock then
goes to secondary crushers or hammer mills for
reduction to about 3 inches or smaller.
The crushed rock is combined with other ingredients
such as iron ore or fly ash and ground, mixed, and fed
to a cement kiln.
The cement kiln heats all the ingredients to about 2,700
degrees Fahrenheit in huge cylindrical steel rotary kilns
lined with special firebrick. Kilns are frequently as much
as 12 feet in diameter—large enough to accommodate an
automobile and longer in many instances than the
height of a 40-story building. The large kilns are
mounted with the axis inclined slightly from the
horizontal.
The finely ground raw material or the slurry is fed into
the higher end. At the lower end is a roaring blast of
flame, produced by precisely controlled burning of
powdered coal, oil, alternative fuels, or gas under forced
draft.
As the material moves through the kiln, certain elements
are driven off in the form of gases. The remaining
elements unite to form a new substance called clinker.
Clinker comes out of the kiln as grey balls, about the
size of marbles.
Clinker is discharged red-hot from the lower end of the
kiln and generally is brought down to handling
temperature in various types of coolers. The heated air
from the coolers is returned to the kilns, a process that
saves fuel and increases burning efficiency.
After the clinker is cooled, cement plants grind it and
mix it with small amounts of gypsum and limestone.
Cement is so fine that 1 pound of cement contains 150
billion grains. The cement is now ready for transport to
ready-mix concrete companies to be used in a variety of
construction projects.
Although the dry process is the most modern and
popular way to manufacture cement, some kilns in the
United States use a wet process. The two processes are
essentially alike except in the wet process, the raw
materials are ground with water before being fed into
the kiln.

Here are 10 fields (out of 21 major job categories)
in which full-time workers are most likely to report
an episode of major depression in a given year. But
if you want to be a nurse (No. 4), it doesn’t mean
you should pick another profession.
“There are certain aspects of any job that can
contribute to or exacerbate depression,” says
Deborah Legge, PhD, a licensed mental health
counselor in Buffalo. "Folks with the high-stress
jobs have a greater chance of managing it if they
take care of themselves and get the help they
need.”

Nursing home/child-care workers
Personal-care providers top the list, with nearly
11% of people in this field reporting a bout of
major depression. (The rate is 13% in the
unemployed; 7% in the general population.)
A typical day can include feeding, bathing, and
caring for others who are “often incapable of
expressing gratitude or appreciation…because they
are too ill or too young or they just aren’t in the
habit of it,” says Christopher Willard, clinical
psychologist at Tufts University and author of

the people who are serving the food at your
favorite local digs. Wait staff often get low pay and

While 10% of workers in general reported an
episode of major depression in the past year,
almost 15% of women in this field did so.
“This is often a very thankless job,” Legge says.
“People can be really rude and there is a lot of
physical exertion. When people are depressed, it is
hard to have energy and motivation—when you
have to be on, it is difficult.”

Social workers
It’s probably not a huge surprise to find social
workers near the top of this list. Dealing with
abused children or families on the brink of every
imaginable crisis—combined with bureaucratic red
tape—can make for a demanding, stressful job
that’s often 24-7.
“There can be a culture that says that to do a good
job, you have to work really hard and often make
sacrifices,” Willard says.
“Because social workers work with people who are
so needy, it can be hard to not sacrifice too much
to the job. I see that happen a lot with social
workers and other caring professions, and they get
really burned out pretty quickly.”

Vice-President Paa Kwesi Amissah-Arthur has
escaped a potentially life-threatening accident after a
saloon car rammed into a car in his convoy at Gomoa
Adams, near Nsakyire Junction on the Winneba-Cape
Coast highway.
The saloon car is said to have crashed into one of the
black SUVs in the vice-president’s convoy, causing it
to somersault several times.
The car eventually rolled over and landed on its back
in a bush, according to a report by 3news.com.
The affected vehicle is believed to be the emergency
car for the vice-president and is understood to
contain the guns and ammunition of his security
detail.

Four people were injured in the accident.

them apart due to their personalities. “When they were
newborns, it was difficult to tell the difference, but I

“All kids have birthmarks between the eyebrows, but
Roman’s is slightly darker than the others, and Rohan,
for example, has it on his leg,” mom explains. “Being
in the hospital, the doctors told they were not
identical, but since we left a lot of my friends have
been telling they are three of a kind.”
“According to the Multiple Births Foundation, the only
way to establish 100% identity is a DNA test. So we
decided to take the one,” mom says.
Having consulted with the Fundation, Becki-Jo took
oral cavity swabs from her triplets and sent them to a
laboratory for an analysis. In early May, she received
the results that they are genetically identical. They are
the youngest of naturally conceived kids in the UK.
“I couldn’t believe it,” Becki says. “I didn’t see it
might be twins, not to mention triplets. Our family
deal with this for the first time ever.” Liverpool
Women’s Hospital doctors scanned the mother-to-be
every week. Triplets were delivered by Caesarean
Section at the 31 week of pregnancy. Rocco was 1.5
kg, Roman was 1.53 kg and Rohan was 1.64 kg.
“Now, when the kids are home, I begin to tell apart
their personalities, as they’re totally different. Rohan
is the loudest, he shouts all the time. Rocco is the
quite one, but he can be irritable too, and Roman is
secretive and not willing to share,” happy mom says.
Becki-Jo has daughter Indiana, who is three years
older than triplet siblings. “Indiana loves them and
isn’t jealous at all,” mom admits.
The babies need about 130 diapers and four baby wipe
packages every week. A pack of formula lasts for
about two days, and the washing machine is run 3
times a day. The father of the triplets, 28-year-old
Liam Tierney, doesn’t live with Becki-Jo, so her 17-
year-old sister Lauren is of a great help.
Before the birth of Indiana, Becki-Jo wanted to be a
natal nurse, and now she’s even more into it,
especially after what she’s been through. “All
assistance and medical care we got was very good,”
she says. “I am happy we worked everything out.”
Identical triplets are conceived when the fertilized egg
splits twice. If twins or triplets have one membrane in
the mother’s womb, as a rule, they are identical. If
not, their placentas are indistinguishable from those of
non-identical twins, and only DNA test can tell this
for certain.
In 2014, Karen Gilbert from Pontypool, South Wales,
delivered triplets, and every morning she painted their
toenails in different colors every to differentiate
between Ffion, Maddison and Paige.

China builds anti traffic bus

China's traffic straddling bus hits the
road
China has built a bus that can carry about 300
passengers and at the same time drive above car
traffic.
The straddling Transit Elevated Bus (TEB) went on its
first road test in Qinhuangdao, China, on Tuesday.
According to RT, the environmentally-friendly bus is
powered by electricity and solar energy generated by
panels in its roof. Designed to maximise the use of
road space, it is 22 meters long and 8 meters wide,
which makes it able to blanket multiple lanes of
traffic.
There are plans to increase the seating capacity of the
bus to enable it carry 1,200 passengers.
The vehicle is expected to reach speeds of up to 60km
per hour, running on rails laid along ordinary roads,
according to a report by the BBC.
“The biggest advantage is that the bus will save lots
of road space,” the project’s chief engineer, Song
Youzhou, told state-media agency Xinhua earlier this
year.
“The TEB has the same functions as the subway,
while its cost of construction is less than one fifth of
the subway,” another engineer Bai Zhiming told news
outlet CCTV.
