137 including 3 women put to death sentence in ghana

137 prisoners including 3 women under
death row in Ghana
Director of Amnesty International Ghana, Lawrence
Amesu, has revealed that close to 137 prisoners
including three women are currently under death
row awaiting execution.
Speaking during the launch of Advocacy Toolkit for
Abolition of Death Penalty in West
Africa, Lawrence Amesu says his outfit was pressing
hard to push for the abolition of the death penalty in
Ghana.
In 2015, President Mahama commuted 14 death
sentences to life imprisonment.
