Two years ago the news of the disappearance of
Ghanaian musician, Castro and friend, Janet Bandu
took many Ghanaians by shock.
Efforts are still being made to find the bodies of the
two who are thought to have drowned in the Ada
River, but 2 years after the disappearance of the duo,
here are the facts you need to know.
1. The incident happened on 6 July 2014.
Castro and Janet were on a holidaying trip with
Asamoah Gyan and Baffour Gyan when they were
reported to have drowned. The jet ski used by Castro
and his partner was recovered.
2. Castro’s “Seihor” won an award after his death
Seihor won song of the Year award at the 2015
Vodafone Ghana Music Awards.

3. There will be no funeral for the “missing” Castro
The family of Castro has indicated that they have no
plans of holding a funeral for their missing son.
According to the father, he prays that God will reveal
“whatever happened” to Castro to the family.
4. Castro is not considered dead yet
Despite not having been seen since the
disappearance, Castro has not yet been declared
officially dead. According to police regulation, missing
persons can only be declared as dead after 7 years of
disappearance.
5. Castro allegedly drown trying to save Janet Bandu

According to initial reports, Castro plunged himself
into the river in an attempt to save Janet Bandu who
had apparently fallen off the jet ski into the river.
6. Asamoah Gyan has denied reports of having used
Castro for “ juju “
Asamoah Gyan and Castro
Rumor have surrounded Asamoah Gyan since the
death of Castro with people claiming that the
footballer cum musician had sacrificed Castro for
spiritual prowess. Asamoah Gyan has however
consistently denied these claims on several
occasions.
7. Castro released a new song a year and 10 months
after his death
A year and 1o months after his strange disappearance,
Castro single released a new song called “Kakape”
which featured the musician , Obrafour .
Castro and Janet Bandu went missing while on a
holiday hangout with family and friends including the
Gyan brothers at the Holiday resort in Ada in July
2014.
